Grown in North Peru, our Roquito® pearls are about the size of a pea and have a hot and sweet kick that bursts through on each crunch. The pearls have a distinctive shape that adds a textural dimension to dishes along with a fiery kick.

How are our signature Roquito® pearls grown?
Firstly, they are cultivated in the Jayanca region, where the optimal conditions for growth can be found.

The seeds are then germinated for 30 days before the seedlings are then transplanted to the final field for their vegetative growth. This nourishing period lasts around 90 days in which the plant grows and receives all the care it needs.

After flowering our Roquito® pepper pearls begin to develop. Once reaching their optimum size the peppers begin to change colour. Passing through light green, orange until they reach their unique rich deep red colour.

The plant grows to about 20 inches tall with cascading branches full of fruit. Once the plant is ready for harvest, the Roquito® pepper pearls are hand collected, reaching between 25 and 30 tons per hectare. Our Roqutio® pepper range includes red and yellow Roquito® pepper pearls as well as sliced, diced, and Roquito® pepper sauce which add value to a variety of salad dishes, pizza toppings, pasta garnish, and appetizers for bakery items as well.
